Quantum Dot Lasers, New Technologies with The Ability to Send Data Up to 25 Gbps

Fujitsu today in announcing the holding of press conferences that have managed to find a new technology of quantum dot lasers (quantum dot lasers) that can transmit data at speeds to 25 Gbps. Fujitsu is not alone in developing these technologies, assisted by researchers from the University of Tokyo.

Quantum dot lasers are semiconductor lasers that can accommodate the nano-sized quantum dot as its active ingredient. Use of quantum dot lasers is also said to be a continuation of the current semiconductor lasers.

Not only that, this new technology is said to consume less power than its predecessor. While for fast data transfer speeds due to the quantum dot density can be improved and piled into several layers stacked in this new technology.

Indeed this technology will be developed further still, but it is planned to be used as a new source to be processed until you reach the next generation of data transfer with a target of 100 Gbps.
